Although, I had been to both the locations a few weeks ago this time it was
a bit different since I was accompanied by our CEO and Founder – Mr.
Kuruvilla. He had traveled from Dubai to meet some of our partner
suppliers. We met Mr. Abhijeet Bhasale from Rainbow International and
later in the day we met Mr. Jital Shah of Sanghar Export. Sanghar Export is
one of the leading exporters of Onion and has been associated with
farmers in Maharashtra and Gujarat. For lunch, we had some mouth
watering Maharashtrian cuisine like Thalipeeth, Batata vada, and my all-
time favorite – Kharvas which is a dessert made from Colostrum.

The next day, we met Ashish Nikam from Intercont Liner. They are one of our
trusted partners and have been looking after transport and Logistics.
Later, we left for Mumbai.

After spending two days in Mumbai myself and our CEO – Kuru (as we
fondly call him) left for Nashik. Our first meeting was with Sahyadri Farms.
We were very keen to visit them. There we met Mr. Santosh More who had
arranged a factory visit for us. We were pleasantly surprised to see the size
of their operation. They have a state-of-the-art facility and equipment
that are cutting edge. They are one of the largest suppliers of Ketchup to
HUL.

We spent the rest of the day visiting the packhouses of Magnus and Single
Agro Processing Pvt. Ltd. Both have warehouses were new and have one of the best machinery in place. This visit to Nasik and neighboring areas
made me realize the scale Indian farmers have adopted to international
standards of agriculture. No matter how many times I visit Nashik, I always learn something new and look forward to visiting again.
